What Dhan asks for
You find these in Dhan Web (Profile, API and Security). Enter them only inside your own signed-in ConnectBridge account.
| Detail | Needed |
|---|---|
| Dhan Client ID | Required |
| Trading PIN | Optional |
| TOTP Secret (optional) | Optional |
| Access Token (Manual mode) | Optional |
Two ways to connect: Auto mode, with your Dhan API PIN (and the TOTP secret if you enabled TOTP), where a fresh access token is generated each morning; or Manual mode, where you paste the day's access token from Dhan Web before trading.
Connect it in four steps
- Get the details above from Dhan Web (Profile, API and Security).
- Whitelist your ConnectBridge server's static IP with Dhan, where it asks for one. Why a static IP?
- Sign in to ConnectBridge, open your broker connection, choose Dhan and enter the details.
- Set your Trading Risk Profile, then start today's session when you are ready.
What then runs on your Dhan account
- Your Research Analyst's recommendations, sized to your capital, while your session is on.
- Your own orders from the order ticket, with the same Risk Profile protection.
- Stoploss, trailing, targets with locks, and day limits, by your rules. See every control.
- Strategy Baskets for spreads and hedges, placed in one go.
Stay safe
We never ask for broker details, OTPs, passwords, TPIN or UPI PIN over a call, WhatsApp or email. A TOTP secret is the setup key from your authenticator, not the 6-digit code. Your API secret, PIN or password, TOTP secret and session token are stored encrypted, and used only to send your orders to your broker.
Questions
Do I need a new Dhan account?
No. ConnectBridge works on the Dhan account you already have. There is nothing to open or move.
Where do my money and shares stay?
In your own Dhan trading and demat account, at all times. ConnectBridge never holds funds or securities, and you can disconnect at any time.
Who sets Dhan's API rules and charges?
Dhan does. Their terms, limits and any charges apply to your account; ConnectBridge does not set them.
Dhan is a name belonging to its owner, used here only to say that ConnectBridge can connect to Dhan accounts. Your account, its charges and its terms stay with Dhan. ConnectBridge gives no investment advice and promises no returns.
